Located in a former 13th century convent, the Unterlinden museum benefits from a tremendous prestige.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come to admire the important collection of Rhenish paintings and sculptures, as well as the famous Issenheim Altarpiece by Matthias Grünewald, considered as a masterpiece in World Art history.
The museum also presents a remarkable collection of Alsatian folk art and decorative arts, alongside with an important Modern Art department.

In the heart of the old city of Colmar, the Bartholdi museum is housed in a vast residence, native place of the New York Statue of Liberty's creator.
Its rooms contain Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi's most important collection of works, thanks to the heritage the artist's widow left to the city.
Statues, busts, drafts, original models as well as the furniture and souvenirs of the family are exhibited.

The Museum of Ethnography and National History, founded in 1860, and rare Alsatian museum with extra-European collections, possess more than 1500 ethnographic objects coming from Oceania, Africa, America, Australia and Asia. The museum presents in 10 rooms, with 2 reserved to temporary expositions, collections of zoology, mineralogy, ethnology and Egyptology.
